Hairy Traveller takes a break on his narrow boat trip along the Worcester and Birmingham canal to visit some great Worcester pubs. He starts at not a pub but a hotel – the Diglis House Hotel that has a wonderful beer garden. Looking for dog friendly pubs in Worcester? You could do far worse than the Anchor Inn which is right on the towpath. It is also one of the best pubs in Worcester by the river. He then walks into the town centre to sample two places that could claim to be the best pub in Worcester. The Cardinal’s Hat is the oldest pub in Worcester and has a very friendly feel to it. It also is one of several pubs in Worcester with accommodation – only here the rooms are haunted. While the King Charles House has the claim to fame that it was from here that Charles II fled after losing the battle of Worcester. It is one of the finest pub restaurants in Worcester.
